Tri-Luma® targets melasma and other forms of hyperpigmentation by addressing the root causes of dark spots:
Hydroquinone lightens existing dark spots by reducing melanin production.
Tretinoin speeds up the skin’s natural exfoliation process, helping to shed pigmented skin cells and prevent further buildup.
Fluocinolone Acetonide reduces inflammation and redness, which can worsen pigmentation issues.
This combination of ingredients makes Tri-Luma® an effective treatment for hyperpigmentation, particularly melasma, but it may also be used for other types of skin discoloration caused by sun damage, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (such as acne scars), or other forms of uneven pigmentation.
Before applying Tri-Luma®, gently cleanse your face with a mild, non-irritating cleanser to remove dirt, makeup, and oils.
Take a small amount of the cream (usually a pea-sized amount) and apply it evenly to the affected areas of your face or other areas with hyperpigmentation. Gently massage the cream into the skin.
Tri-Luma® is typically applied once daily, usually in the evening before bed, to avoid potential sun sensitivity during the day (due to hydroquinone and tretinoin).
Since Tri-Luma® can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, it’s crucial to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 during the day. This helps to protect your skin from further pigmentation and UV damage.
Always use Tri-Luma® as prescribed by your healthcare provider. If you have sensitive skin or experience any irritation, they may adjust your dosage or recommend less frequent use.
