Tadalafil works by inhibiting PDE5, an enzyme that breaks down cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the smooth muscle of the penis. Cialis 10 mg is usually prescribed for on-demand use before sexual activity. The typical dose is 10 mg, taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity.
For daily use, Cialis 2.5 mg or 5 mg is typically prescribed, as this allows a lower dose of tadalafil to maintain effectiveness throughout the day for spontaneous sexual activity.
The recommended dose of Cialis for erectile dysfunction is usually 10 mg taken once per day. It can be increased to 20 mg if needed but should not exceed this dosage within a 24-hour period.
